Berdine Oracleer

Berdine Oracleer, (1085, 1189) was a jeweler in Cologne.

Berdine believed in Folk religion.

She was rich, and owned many houses, many goods. Among these possessions, she began an art collection. She belonged to the low caste of the society, and had some friends among the servants, beggars and workers. She had a refined culture, and was known to read, and sometimes write, for pleasure. She was force of nature, and people saw in their body and beauty the incarnation of a god. She was iron-willed, achieving any goal she set.

Berdine, 39 years old, jeweler, became the new leader of the family.

7 years later, Berdine wanted to find the love of her live and marry. She began to look for a suitable spouse in Syracuse. Berdine fell in love with Oliver, a stunning man, 17 years old, a builder. Both married and lived together from now on. At the same time, Berdine created a garden.

Nine months after, Berdine got pregnant, and gave birth to an ugly boy named Pablo.

In the year 1146, Berdine decided to settle somewhere else. She packed a few possessions and departed for a new place. The travel was the occasion to do some merchandise dealing, and she made some business. The family settled in Cologne. Soon after, Berdine payed a long due debt.

At the age of 70, Berdine needed money. She resolved to sell a family treasure : the compass. It was a difficult decision, and the sale granted her a huge sum of money. A little while after, Berdine broke an arm. The same day, Berdine began gambling, and lost much.

Aged 79, Berdine looked for a child to adopt. Berdine found a tall boy named Jacques left alone. Jacques became part of the family from now on. On the first day of the month after, Berdine became paranoid.

In the year 1176, Berdine spent time socializing with people in Cologne. She made some strong friendships (and a couple of enemies). On the next full moon, Berdine became paranoid.

At the age of 104, Berdine decided to visit the world. She went on a long journey and reached Kwiambana, in Africa : a couple of mud houses at the border of a desert. The travel was fascinating, and she learned many things on the road. Then she came back and was quite happy to find her house and family. At the same time, Berdine learned an old tale from a wandering ermit.

Berdine died after a long agony.
